چکیده
Background: The reported statistics suggest that alcoholic liver disease is on the rise. Furthermore, medications used to treat have unpleasant effects, and this necessitates need continuously investigate hepatoprotective agents. This study investigates animal models of evaluate activity. Content: A good number published articles evaluating activity were summarized. studies three ethanol-induced injury models: acute model, chronic Lieber– DeCarli model. Summary: Wistar rats primarily in High levels alanine transaminase (ALT) aspartate (AST) histopathological alterations found all (acute injury, Lieber–DeCarli models). Severe steatosis was shown both models. However, fibrosis undetected

Animal Models Of Liver Cirrhosis And Fibrosis
Animal modeling is a crucial necessity in clinical studies of liver diseases. Authenticity of the data which are produced using this tool under different conditions and accuracy of the analyses and assessments which would be based on such data sets is completely dependent on the adoption of a standardized methodology for analyzes and assessment of these data sets. Cirrhosis and Fibrosis are amo...
متن کاملAnimal models of alcoholic liver disease--focus on the intragastric feeding model.
The use of animal models has contributed to greater understanding of how alcoholic liver disease (ALD) develops, and of how the severity of liver injury is influenced by factors other than alcohol, such as nutrition, oxygen deprivation (as occurs with sleep apnea or smoking), and gene regulation. This article focuses on the use of one animal model in particular, the intragastric feeding model i...
متن کاملAnimal models of non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease: current perspectives and recent advances
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a continuous spectrum of diseases characterized by excessive lipid accumulation in hepatocytes. NAFLD progresses from simple liver steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and, in more severe cases, to liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Because of its growing worldwide prevalence, various animal models that mirror both t...
متن کاملAn Animal Model for the Juvenile Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis
Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) are the hepatic manifestations of the metabolic syndrome; worrisome is the booming increase in pediatric age. To recreate the full spectrum of juvenile liver pathology and investigate the gender impact, male and female C57Bl/6 mice were fed with high fat diet plus fructose in the drinking water (HFHC) immediately...
